The practitioners at the setting are dedicated to improving their knowledge and skills, they attend regular training, as a setting we are graduate lead, this leads to a greater knowledge and consistent practice.

Hedgehogs

The adult to child ratio is 1:3 for under 2’s and 1:4 for under 3’s.
Resources are carefully selected to encourage and nurture your child’s needs. We ask that you complete a transition form to pass on your knowledge of your child to us.  We will also follow your routine as much as possible. As your child becomes more mobile we provide sand, water, play dough and paint experiences to widen their knowledge and understanding.

Buglins and Squirrels

The adult to child ratio is 1:8 for children 3 to school age and 1:4 for children 2 to 3 years.
There is a more formal approach to learning in the Buglins and Squirrels (pre-school) following the guidelines or the EYFS, activities are based around children’s interests, knowledge and abilities. With encouragement we aim to extend the children’s experiences to help them build a holistic picture of a well-rounded child, who is confident, independent and has positive self-esteem. We encourage children to flourish as individuals. During the transition between nursery and school, we liaise with the local primary school; the preschool children attend sportsday, nativity and summer picnic.

What you need to bring with you.
We request that you provide for your child nappies, wipes or creams if you use them, we also request that you bring a coat and wellies for outside play, a complete change of clothing including underwear in a named bag, in case of water play ot toileting accidents. During the summer months please provide a named bottle of sun cream for outside play. We will take evey measure possible to protect your child’s clothes, however we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage.
