Location
Kings Farm Day Nursery and Kids Club is situated in the village of Long Bennington, with close access to the A1, seven miles north of Grantham and six miles south of Newark.
The building is a former farm house that has been professionally converted with the emphasis on safety.

Special Educational Needs
SENCo (Special Educational Needs co-ordinator).
It is our policy that all children will have the opportunity to participate in all activities offered regardless of their abilities. Kings Farm Nursery has a dedicated member of the team who has the responsibility to ensure this is possible. If you feel that your child’s experience at Nursery or Kids Club could be improved by input from the SENCo, then please feel free to discuss this with her or a member of the team who will pass your concerns onto the SENCo.

Parents as Partners
We understand that leaving your child for the first time in nursery is a big event and can be stressful and an upsetting time for you and sometimes your child, so therefore, we try and make this as easy as possible. Our priority is to help you and your family feel welcome and relaxed. We offer a variety of full and part time places with flexible hours and wrap around care, please discuss this with the manager to best meet your needs.
We believe that no one knows your child better than you, because of this we would like to encourage parents to have an active involvement at Kings Farm. Whether this means discussing your child with their key workers or volunteering to help with activities or outings. When parents and practitioners work together this has a positive impact on the child.
Confidentiality
All details held by Kings Farm Day Nursery will be held in the strictest confidence.
Access to information will be restricted to a need to know basis. Should you wish to see information kept in your file please make an appointment with the Manager. Your child’s learning Journey can be seen by you at any time please speak to your child’s key worker.
We have a policy in place for the use of social networking sites, we ask that practitioners and parents do not discuss the nursery or its patrons on these sites.
Child Safety and Security
The safety and security of the children is extremely important and we will take every measure possible to ensure their safety, therefore we request that you provide a photograph of anyone that has your permission to collect your child, alternatively you can choose to use a password system, please discuss this with the Manager if this will be of benefit to you.
We request that if your details change I.E. Address, Telephone No, you, you inform us to enable us to keep your details up to date. Periodically you will be asked for a complete update of information.
To avoid any confusion with school collections, please inform the school in writing of the days your child will be attending, we also ask that if your child does not need collecting from school you inform us by 2.30pm on the day.
Safeguarding
Our environment provides a safe place where children are able to enjoy learning and grow in confidence. We have a responsibility to take all necessary steps to keep children safe and well. We will take any issue for concern in a child’s life at home, within the setting or elsewhere seriously. We work in accordance with the local Safeguarding Children Board and OFSTED.
We will record all injuries to children, (this includes injuries your child may have sustained whilst not in our care).
All employees are CRB checked.
We have a legal duty to record and report any suspicion of abuse, however minor, to the local Safe Guarding Children Board.

Behaviour
We encourage positive behaviour by children towards their peers, carers and the environment.
We praise and acknowledge children’s positive actions and attitudes.
In extreme cases of unwanted behaviour we will discuss these with you when you collect your child, we hope that we can work together to encourage more positive behaviour. Should nursery staff consider that the child’s behaviour is unsafe for a particular activity we reserve the right to remove them from the activity, the child will be given fair warning and the opportunity to change their behaviour before this happens.
Illness and Medication
Please make every effort to keep your child at home if they have any contagious rash/illness, conjunctivitis or sickness and diarrhoea. Should your child become ill during their time at nursery/Kids Club we will of course contact you or your emergency contacts to arrange for he/she to be taken home. We regret that we do not have the facilities to care for sick children.
Should you require medication for any condition we are happy to administer this for you, you will be asked to complete a medication form.
Complaints
If you feel at any point that you have a complaint you should in the instance speak to the Owner, Manager or Deputy. Your complaint will be taken seriously and dealt with in the strictest confidence. We will aim to resolve the conflict to its best result, however if you feel it was not resolved to your satisfaction, you of course, have the right to complain to OFSTED.
